The iPad 5 is officially the iPad Air and it brings with it a new design that looks a lot slimmer, and feels a lot lighter, just like the iPad Mini.
The Processor
The previous, iPad 4th Generation featured an Apple A6 processor and the iPad Mini's A5 processor. Apple's luxurious new product now sports a 64-bit processor (Apple's first) - dubbed the A7.
"This is a screaming fast processor" says Phil Schiller
All new Co-Processor
Paired with the super fast, A7 System on a chip (SOC) is Apple's, M7 Co-processor. This is mainly used to help in the 'motion' detection hence the M7 or 'Motion 7'.
Support for more LTE bands
The iPad Air supports a wide array of more LTE bands, making it more flexible for more markets and cellular providers.
It's a sexy beast...
It's a lot thinner compared to previous generations. Apple is generous enough to give us two colors, White and Black.
Code-named J42, version iPad 4,1, model A1475, the iPad Air launched on November 1, 2013, starting at the same $499 for the Wi-Fi only 16GB version, add $100 to upgrade to 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB respectively.
