Month after launch, Android 4.4 KitKat gathered 1.1% of all distributions

Google's OS dashboard reveals that 1.1 percent of active Android devices are running the new platform roughly a month after it became available.

Jelly Bean reigns in Android supremacy gaining 37.4 percent. Android 4.4 KitKat isn't slowing the growth of Jelly Bean as you might expect. The older operating system still is popular thanks in part to a two-point surge in devices running Android 4.3. We do expect KitKat's adoption rate to rise quickly - both the NExus 5 and the first official KitKat upgrades have only been around for a few weeks at most, and there are more updates (specifically, the 2013 flagships) on the way.
