Earlier this week, Apple gave away 12 free Gifts. Some giveaways didn't appeal to me, and quite frankly, not many were fascinated with Apple's choice of gifts. Expectations from the en masse is a little way over the fence with what Apple has decided to give instead.

All throughout the duration of the event, Apple gave away 4 Music Tracks, 2 TV Show Episodes, 2 Ebooks, 3 Apps, and a movie.
Apple's challenge was expectations. Some days, they gave away a free gift of a kids app. Unfortunately, people aren't into that, resulting into a disaster of them leaving bad reviews on its page, which is detrimental to the developer.
Working out a handful of deals and trying to do best matches could prove tricky, as no doubt a percentage of people would end up preferring - or simply thinking they'd prefer - one of the other gifts, which would result in similar confusion and complaints.
Turns out for me...
Being a US registered account, I merely took advantage of US's release on Day 5, Hugo. I know that's off the list but Home Alone was listed for 'Other Region.'
I claimed my free HD content. That's about it for my 12 Days. I didn't bother to get the other gifts, as it was either a kids game, or I wasn't interested. I looked over the free giveaway, sees it's a kids app that I had no use for, and moved on -expecting something better will come along in the future. Other than the 30 seconds it took on my life, there's certainly no loss.
I was assuming Apple would hear the voice of the people, especially on the internet. Doesn't get any easier than this does it?, if the mass doesn't appreciate 'kids games' and have higher expectations.. let them voice their opinion.
I'm imposing a counterargument though, let's not start a banter shall we? They are free items need I remind you. Apple didn't have to do this, but they did and some people do is criticize when it's not they want. Ya'll must know that no one's forcing you to download the content! If you expected something more, I must say you're missing out the spirit of Christmas. Giving gifts is all about expecting the receiver to be grateful. Same goes for Apple.
Don't complain about gifts! It didn't cost you anything and you're complaining? I can't say I didn't either but I guess I wasn't paying much attention to the backbone of gift-giving - I have to admit that.
Anyways...
All are free content, and there's an option for us to either get it or not. I would thank Apple for doing this year after year without such fuss. It's the last day today so grab your copies of the Rolling Stones EP and be proud! Apple has done well with its 12 Days of Gifts. Thanks Apple!
