Smartwatch for women. If need be?

The tech scope is still outgrown by men. That isn't something kept secret among us geeks. The vast majority of the most interested in technology are men. Does that mean women are left out? Not really.

Some women are interested in technology. There are numerous reputable women in the industry of tech. In my school, we have a handful of female friends who love technology and geek out as hard as I do over new gadgets.

I'll be honest though, the bias towards men in the industry has been a growing problem all along, eventually when the wearable category came into place it opens up a huge hole for bias-in-effect for one simple reason: fashion.

Wearable tech is directly tied to fashion. And when it's brought into the scene, gender specificity is an issue. Some women wouldn't mind wearing a Pebble Steel. But there's a definite and clear disconnect between the technology and fashion markets.

The question is: who will be the first manufacturer to realize this growing problem? Who will be the first to make a smartwatch for women?
