CES 2014 Unveiled: Eyelock Myris

Eyelock Myris

'Out with the old and in with the new' as the saying goes. Fingerprint scanning are so walking out of the ship's plank. Hey, a new hero's in town - EyeLock's myris aims to take iris scanning to a whole new level with a tiny-sized device that plugs into your computer's USB port.

Yes. It looks like a pokeball, and I myself likes the overall looks (who wouldn't?). EyeLock's unveiling with the awesome tech idea could spark up a whole battery of companies that would integrate the technology to their future smartphones!

How do you use it then? Well, whenever you want to log into a website or a service, just hold it up, look at the sensor, and let it do the magic. Your eye is basically your password. EyeLock says the iris is a more secure biometric than a fingerprint since the chance of a false positive is much lower (no identical twins have the same patterns),

Eventually this technology would grow into the evolving market. Small steps first as always: It goes on sale, schedules Q1 of 2014.

Is Iris Scanning worth a shot in smartphone security?
