Unveiled at CES 2014, the FZ-M1 is ultra-tough and rugged. It's backed by power similar to that of an i5 and of course the star of the show, Windows 8.1. Along with a myriad of accessories that allow it to adapt to almost any situation you throw at it.
With a design that's certified to withstand drop, shock, vibration, rain and dust, and even, freezing and extremely hot temperatures, it's able to survive through the hell within mother nature. The sealed, fanless design also earns it for being a water and dust resistance.
If you are not compelled enough, you can twist or bend the chassis at your heart's content - to be able to describe the build as rock-solid. No other compact tablets are this tough.
The USB 3 port and 3.5mm headset jack are sealed behind a waterproof flap; as is the tablet's 19v power input.
Going further out back, the removable 22Wh, 3,220mAh battery pops out to reveal a sealed microSIM and microSD slots. There's also a secondary bridge battery that makes hot-swapping possible for this device. Panasonic claims eight hours of use with the standard batter, and 16 hours with the chunkier 6,800 mAh option.
Under the hood, it contains a 1.6GHz Core i5-4302Y CPU and 128GB or 256GB mSATA SSDs.
The 7inch touchscreen sports a reasonable 1280x800 resolution. Not too bad for it has an average 216ppi density when compared to Apple's Retina display.
